- ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Thanks to the Ririe personnel that responded to the suicidal subject call. It is always a tough situation when we stage away from the action but our roll in traffic control and standing ready is just as important as being at the actual scene. We can be thankful that it ended peacefully and no one was injured. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office sent thanks!
- We responded to two mobile home fires this month that went completely different ways. One in Menan resulted in a total loss. Thanks to those who responded in the frigid early morning! The other was in Rigby in the daytime. We were able to catch it before it became a full-fledged house fire. It’s great that we were able to locate the problem and resolve it!
- As you may have noticed, Jefferson County is the second largest growing county in the state! What does that mean to us? It means that we as a fire district need to grow and respond to our patrons needs. The cities of Rigby and Ririe are seeing a huge growth in housing and I suspect we will see commercial growth as well. I (Chief Anderson) encourage anyone who has ideas on keeping up with the county’s growth to come visit with me. We don’t have all the answers and are always open to ideas. Thanks for all the work you put in every day!
- We had a GREAT recovery on a Rigby call at the basketball game on the 5th. A patient went down in the bleachers during a game. CPR was started by bystanders and the patient was transported to the hospital. The patient is now, or will soon be, home! A very different outcome could be expected if not for the quick work of all involved.
