- ANNOUNCEMENTS
- As this weather gets colder, let’s all make sure we are taking care of ourselves by bundling up. Make sure you have a hat and gloves in the pockets of your EMS jacket. Stay warm!!
- It’s been another busy month with slick roads and vehicles not staying on those slick roads. Please use extra caution as you drive your own vehicles as well as district vehicles. No one can stop on a dime when the roads are icy. Please don’t take any unnecessary risks!
- We have some new dispatchers in the county dispatch office. Please be patient with them as they learn the ropes. We will help them as much as possible. When they don’t answer up immediately it usually means they are busy talking with law enforcement or other entities.
- When dispatch gives you information after an initial call-out, you should always acknowledge their transmission. Failure to do so keeps the dispatcher guessing as to whether they are getting through with their info. ALSO….when you hear dispatch say ALSO, they are relaying that they have more information to pass along. GO AHEAD WITH YOUR ALSO!
- Another item of business – Active911. PLEASE use the app response feature that lets us know if you are responding to a call. If your radio didn’t get out or you didn’t have your radio immediately available, this helps leadership make appropriate decisions on when to call for more help. This should be on your New Year’s list of how to make the Chief’s life easier!
